Historically Speedway racing used to be famous in the area and these were held under the team of Oxford Cheetahs. They used to race up until recently and they have also been known under many other names as well. Many of their achievements include the Gold Cup winners in 1989, Premier League Champions, Craven Shield Winners and also British League Champions on many occasions. Unfortunately the stadium closed in 2007 and now speedway racing is nowhere to be seen.
